I wrote “Summer Nights” during winter, after a difficult breakup. When in need of a warm memory to lift me up, I always turn to “Summer Nights”.
This song is a joyful teenage love story inspired by a first love experience at the Lithuanian Baltic Sea. To add a water element, we used washy guitar sounds inspired by the production of Anderson .Paak. We used multiple layers of warm backing vocals and smooth Fender Rhodes to give it a feel-good, relaxed sound.
"Summer Nights" is the first single from my new album in an R&B, neo-soul aesthetic that mixes urban, soul and jazz elements.
